Love Like Your Life Depends On It

Man – what a wedding proposal, right? It’s not the first one of these kinds of video/dance/proposals but I think it’s safe to say it is the best so far! And unless your dead inside – you have to be somewhat moved watching it. I’ve watched this with several people and every time so far whoever I showed it to has cried. Like real tears, cried… but why? The elements that are all put together aren’t anything that would normally bring such emotion… it’s fun, it’s very cool, it’s got an awesome song… but those are all things that shouldn’t evoke leaky eyes… the answer is of course what all of those elements put together represent. Love.

Love moves us. Especially when it’s big, undeniable, inspiring love. This guy went to a lot of trouble to make this proposal special and to express how much he loves the woman with whom he wants to spend his life. When we watch the results of all of his thoughtfulness and his attention on her and his obvious love – it’s moving.

Love reminds us. We see expressions of love like this and we are reminded of someone we love. We are reminded of ways we have taken them for granted. We are reminded that we need to be more attentive… more focused… more expressive.

Love inspires us. From the greatest woks of art to beautiful sonnets to the most eloquent poems to, yes even, videos of lip-synced-dance-fest-proposals… love has inspired us to do amazing things in this world.

Love captivates us. We were created to love and to be loved. God did not intend for us to walk alone – and we see something like this video and it awakens our hearts to seek out love… to find ways to show our love to the ones we love the most.

Love lifts us. Nobody who has ever lived who has felt truly loved has ever said … “ehhh. I could take it or leave it.” It takes us to heights we didn’t dream possible before we experience it.

Today… let’s be moved. Be reminded. Be inspired. Be captivated. Be lifted.

Let’s be love.
